Profile
Eberechi Eze is an English attacking midfielder whose dribbling depends on timing as much as speed. He waits for a challenge, then uses a body feint and quick touches to escape. That close control helps him negotiate crowded areas, whether he starts centrally or carries the ball in from the left.
His passing offers another route through a defence. During Arsenal’s early 2025/26 matches, he lifted a pass behind Manchester City’s defenders for Gabriel Martinelli to equalise. Against Nottingham Forest, he supplied the opposite movement: running beyond the back line himself before squaring for Viktor Gyokeres. He can create an opening as either passer or runner.
His development involved repeated setbacks. After playing in the football cages of Greenwich, he passed through Arsenal, Fulham and Millwall, with a trial at Reading along the way. Eze has credited QPR coaches Chris Ramsey, Paul Hall and Andy Impey with improving his understanding of how to work and apply himself in football.
A loan at Wycombe Wanderers in 2017/18 gave him experience in League Two. His breakthrough Championship season at Queens Park Rangers followed in 2019/20: 14 league goals and selection in the PFA’s divisional team of the year. He moved to Crystal Palace in August 2020.
The defining moment of his Palace career came in the FA Cup final on 17 May 2025. He met Daniel Muñoz’s delivery from the right to score the only goal against Manchester City at Wembley. Palace won their first major trophy, with Eze providing the finish to a swift attacking move.
After returning to Arsenal in August 2025, he scored a north London derby hat-trick against Tottenham that November. His first season brought the 2025/26 Premier League title and a Champions League final appearance, ending in defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
With England, Eze made three substitute appearances at EURO 2024, when the team finished runners-up. He was also part of the squad that took third place at the 2026 World Cup, completing its campaign with a 6–4 win over France.
Eberechi Eze currently plays for Arsenal as an attacking midfielder. He has represented England internationally.
