Profile
Tyler Dibling learned his football at Southampton after coming through Exeter City's youth setup. He trained with Saints from childhood, briefly moved to Chelsea in 2022, then returned to Staplewood within two months. That early detour matters because his senior breakthrough came through the academy he chose to rejoin, rather than through a straight climb at one club.
A 2022 hat-trick for Southampton's development side against Newcastle brought his ball-carrying into view: he repeatedly drove through the middle and finished from similar positions near the edge of the box. The pattern was less about elaborate tricks than about advancing into shooting space before defenders could set themselves. His preferred left foot gave those runs a natural finishing side.
Dibling made his senior debut as a substitute in a League Cup loss at Gillingham in August 2023. He began to make a sustained first-team impression after Southampton's return to the Premier League. On his first league start, against Manchester United in September 2024, he attacked Diogo Dalot from the right, cut inside for a shot and later drew a foul in the area. The penalty was saved, but the sequence showed how a direct carry could change the shape of an attack.
His usual starting lane is the right, with the option to move infield as an attacking midfielder. From the flank he can receive wide, invite a full-back to engage, then shift the ball across his body to run toward goal or release a pass. Premier League analysis of his Southampton spell highlighted the way those vertical carries gave a slower possession side another route forward.
Later that September, Dibling scored his first senior goal against Ipswich after controlling Adam Lallana's pass and finishing left-footed. In an FA Cup tie with Swansea in January 2025, he twice arrived in the box to score from low deliveries. Those goals showed a different threat from his longer dribbles: timing a run to meet service, then reacting when the first attempt was blocked.
He made his England Under-21 debut in a friendly with Spain in November 2024, playing 68 minutes. Southampton confirmed his permanent move to Everton in August 2025. He started England's Under-21 qualifying win over Moldova in March 2026, adding a competitive international appearance to his earlier friendly debut.
Tyler Dibling currently plays for Everton as a right winger.
