Profile
Tyrique George's path into senior football began in Chelsea's development system, which he joined at Under-8 level. He progressed through the youth sides before becoming a regular for both the Under-18s and Under-21s in 2023/24. The club says he helped the Under-18s win their Premier League South section that season, while his first senior involvement was still limited to match-day squads.
His Chelsea debut came as a substitute against Servette in a Conference League qualifier on 29 August 2024. By December he had moved into the senior squad full-time. Chelsea then used him on either wing and through the middle, giving him several ways to enter an attack rather than fixing him to one position.
George's direct running gives him a way to carry the ball at a defender, but his movement without it is just as useful. UEFA's technical observers highlighted a Chelsea move against Djurgården in which he went opposite to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's run, forcing a defender to choose between them and giving Dewsbury-Hall room to turn and pass. It is a specific example of how he can create space for someone else without receiving the ball.
His first senior goal came against Legia Warsaw in April 2025. He started on the left, moved to centre-forward at half-time and followed a shot for a rebound finish after being told to attack that space. Later that month he scored Chelsea's equaliser at Fulham in the Premier League. The two goals showed different parts of his role: adjusting position within a match and arriving where a loose ball might fall.
Chelsea named him its men's Academy Player of the Season for 2024/25. He also came off the bench to score against Espérance de Tunis in the 2025 Club World Cup group stage.
George joined Everton on loan in January 2026 and completed a permanent move there that summer. Chelsea's departure account confirms the sequence, while a July Premier League lineup announcement named him on the left for an Everton pre-season friendly. His career has therefore moved from academy progression to senior minutes in two environments, with the same ability to work from a flank or centrally remaining a useful way to understand his attacking role.
Tyrique George currently plays for Everton as a forward.
