Profile
Francesco Camarda is a centre-forward carrying penalty-area instincts into increasingly demanding football. A pass into space, a penalty or a cross offers a different route to a finish. The harder step is judging those movements against senior defenders, rather than relying on what worked in youth matches.
Camarda joined AC Milan’s academy as a child and was part of its under-15 title-winning side in 2022. He reached the Primavera team in 2023/24. In a September UEFA Youth League match against Newcastle, he scored a penalty and then ran onto a teammate’s pass for a second goal.
On 25 November 2023, he came off the bench against Fiorentina to become Serie A’s youngest debutant. His Champions League debut followed against Club Brugge in October 2024. He headed in late, but the effort was ruled out for offside: a reminder that finding a finishing position is only part of a striker’s timing.
Italy’s 2024 European under-17 title gave Camarda a different stage. He scored twice against Portugal in the 3–0 final, and UEFA’s technical observers named him Player of the Tournament. Italy’s coach highlighted both his scoring and his work for the side.
The senior game asked for adjustment. Camarda described adapting his physical strength, mental approach and timing against older players. Milan Futuro gave him senior minutes in 2024/25, alongside first-team appearances in Serie A and Europe. Those steps tested whether the movements he had learned in youth football could work at a higher pace.
Milan loaned him to Lecce in July 2025. His first Serie A goal came after he entered against Bologna on 28 September: he scored deep in added time to complete a 2–2 draw. Milan exercised its buy-back clause in June 2026, setting his return for July.
Camarda’s international path continued beyond that under-17 win. He made his Italy under-21 debut against Sweden in October 2025 and scored a penalty. On 3 June 2026, he came on for the senior national team against Luxembourg.
Francesco Camarda currently plays for AC Milan as a striker. He has represented Italy internationally.
