Profile
Vasilije Adžić is a Montenegrin midfielder whose attacking contribution can come from either side of the penalty-area line. He has described himself as comfortable behind a striker or deeper in midfield. His goals show how those positions can connect: he can threaten from distance, then get into the box to finish a move.
His development began with Polet Stars in Nikšić before he moved to Budućnost Podgorica. Senior football came early, and he helped Budućnost win the Montenegrin league in 2022/23. A move to Italian football then brought a different level of competition.
Juventus announced his signing in July 2024, outlining a pathway involving both the first team and Next Gen. He went on to play for both. That route gave his introduction to Italy two settings: senior opportunities with Juventus and matches in the club’s development side.
His most striking Juventus moment came against Inter on 13 September 2025. Introduced from the bench, he scored the stoppage-time winner in a 4–3 victory. He received the ball outside the area, set himself and struck with his right foot: a direct example of how his shooting can turn possession outside the box into a goal.
His international breakthrough had come that June. On his senior Montenegro debut against Armenia on 9 June 2025, he headed in a cross in a 2–2 friendly draw. He also helped build the second goal with an outside-of-the-foot pass to Milutin Osmajić, illustrating a contribution to the move beyond the final shot or assist.
In August 2026, Juventus and Sassuolo announced his loan move to Sassuolo. The move formed another stage in his development after his time across Juventus’s two teams.
On 2 October 2026, he scored both Montenegro goals in a 2–1 Nations League win in Latvia. The first followed a pass into the penalty area; the second came from a loose ball after a delivery from the right. Alongside the Inter strike, those finishes show different ways he has supplied goals from midfield.
Vasilije Adžić currently plays for Sassuolo as a central midfielder. He has represented Montenegro internationally.
