Profile
Maghnes Akliouche is a French attacking midfielder whose left foot and positioning help connect midfield with the forwards. He looks for space between the opposition's midfield and defence, where he can receive and combine with teammates. As a young player at Monaco, he described practising different kinds of pass so he could choose between several options.
That attention to the next pass can turn an opening into a chance for someone else. In Monaco's 2025 home victory over Strasbourg, he received Folarin Balogun's pass inside the penalty area and picked out Takumi Minamino at the far post for the winning header. He also contributed defensive recoveries and tackles.
Born in Tremblay-en-France on 25 February 2002, Akliouche played youth football at Villemomble and Torcy before joining Monaco in 2017. His development required patience: youth coach Manu Dos Santos described a technically comfortable player with good vision who initially needed time to build strength and explosiveness.
He made his Ligue 1 debut against Lyon on 16 October 2021. When his first league start followed at Reims in September 2022, Philippe Clement praised both his availability between the lines and the defensive work he expected from a winger. His first professional goal came against Rodez in the Coupe de France in January 2023.
A larger role followed under Adi Hütter during Monaco's 2023–24 season, which ended with second place in Ligue 1 and qualification for the Champions League. Akliouche then scored on his debut in that competition, opening the scoring in Monaco's 2–1 victory over Barcelona in the 2024–25 campaign.
With France, he earned Olympic silver in 2024 and scored in the final against Spain. His senior debut came against Ukraine in September 2025, followed by his first senior international goal against Azerbaijan that November. At the 2026 World Cup he made one substitute appearance, against Iraq; France finished fourth after losing the bronze-medal match to England.
Akliouche joined Paris Saint-Germain in August 2026. His first appearance for the club came in the UEFA Super Cup against Aston Villa on 12 August: he started the match and was replaced at half-time as Paris went on to win 2–1.
Maghnes Akliouche currently plays for Paris Saint Germain as an attacking midfielder. He has represented France internationally.
