Oskar Pietuszewski

Oskar Pietuszewski is a Polish winger whose most revealing actions begin before the final pass or shot. He carries the ball toward a defender, makes that player commit, and uses the space that opens. In an October 2025 Jagiellonia match against Korona Kielce, a run ended in a pass for Jesús Imaz to score.

He came through Jagiellonia Białystok's academy and made his first-team debut in August 2024, coming on against Ajax in a Europa League qualifying tie. The club later described a move from substitute appearances to starts in the Polish league during spring 2025. His directness was being tested in senior matches, where the next decision must arrive quickly after beating a defender.

Jagiellonia recorded separate Polish league Young Player of the Month awards for him in August and September 2025. They were individual monthly honours, not team trophies. Against Korona that October, the club describes him driving forward before supplying Imaz. The sequence shows a winger who can carry through open grass and still look for a teammate, rather than treating every run as an attempt to score himself.

Pietuszewski moved from Jagiellonia to FC Porto in January 2026. His first months in Portugal offered different examples of the same attacking instinct. In February he finished from close range with his left foot against Arouca; in March, he scored against Benfica after accelerating onto a pass from Gabri Veiga, moving past a defender and shooting inside the area.

A March goal against Moreirense adds another detail: he finished a counterattack from the left side of the box with his right foot. Those Porto moments show why he is difficult to reduce to one action. He can arrive centrally after a run, finish with either foot in the league's examples, or use his carry to create for a teammate. In May 2026, at the end of his first half-season in Portugal, he won the 2025/26 Primeira Liga title with Porto.

His international step came on 26 March 2026, when he entered at half-time against Albania for his senior Poland debut in a World Cup qualifying play-off. He also came on in the final against Sweden five days later. Sweden won 3–2 and took the World Cup place, so Pietuszewski's involvement in the play-offs should not be mistaken for participation at the finals. The club and country episodes together trace a young winger learning to apply his direct running in different settings.
