Overview

Lillestrom in brief

Lillestrom SK, short for Lillestrom Sportsklubb and usually known as LSK, are a football club from the town of Lillestrom, just outside Oslo. The club was founded on 2 April 1917 when two local clubs, Lillestrom Idraetsforening and Sportsklubben Rask, merged, and it takes its name from the town. The team play in yellow, which gives them their nickname Kanarifuglene (the Canaries), often shortened to Fugla (the Birds). Home matches are played at Arasen Stadion in Lillestrom.

Lillestrom have won five Norwegian league titles, in 1959, 1976, 1977, 1986 and 1989, and seven Norwegian Football Cups, in 1977, 1978, 1981, 1985, 2007, 2017 and 2025. The 1977 wins made a league and cup double. From 1975 to 2019 the club spent 45 seasons in a row in the top division, a Norwegian record. After relegation in 2024, they won the 2025 First Division without losing a league match and then beat Sarpsborg 08 3-1 in the cup final. In Europe they reached the second round of the European Cup in 1987-88 and of the UEFA Cup in 2000-01. In 2026 they beat Egnatia to reach the Europa League league phase.
