Overview

Kifisia in brief

Kifisia were formed in 2012 when two clubs from Kifissia, a suburb in northern Athens, merged: A.O. Kifisia and A.O.K. Elpidoforos. The new club took Elpidoforos's place in the fourth tier and took over its training ground, still known as the Elpidoforos ground. The team plays in blue and white. Its traditional home is the municipal Zirineio Stadium on Kifissias Avenue, built in 1929-1932. Zirineio does not meet top-flight standards, so in Super League seasons the club has played at other grounds, and since May 2026 it has played at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium in Athens.

The club has risen quickly. After going down from the third tier in 2017-18, Kifisia won the Athens FCA First Division in 2018-19. In 2020-21 it topped its Gamma Ethniki group and won all four promotion play-off games to reach Super League 2. It won the Super League 2 South Group in 2022-23 and gained promotion to the top flight for the first time. After one season it was relegated in 13th place, then won the South Group again in 2024-25. In 2025-26 it stayed up through the play-outs and reached the Greek Cup quarter-finals for the first time.
