Overview

Pardubice in brief

FK Pardubice was formed in 2008 when three Pardubice clubs merged: Tesla Pardubice, which supplied the adult teams, and the youth clubs FK Junior Pardubice and MFK Pardubice. The club traces its roots through these predecessors to 1899, when the first football club in the city was founded. Its colours are red and white. Home games are played at the Stadion Arnosta Kostala, opened in 1931 and rebuilt in 2020-2023. It was called CFIG Arena until mid-2025 and now carries the name of Arnost Kostal, a Pardubice resistance fighter against the Nazis.

Pardubice climbed quickly. They went up from the fourth-tier Divize C to the third tier after 2009-10, and reached the second tier in 2012 as runners-up, because champions MFK Chrudim were refused promotion when their stadium did not meet league requirements. In 2019-20 Pardubice won the second tier, bringing top-flight football back to the city after 51 years. Their own ground was not fit for the top flight, so they played home games at Bohemians' Dolicek in Prague until February 2023. They finished seventh in their first top-flight season, 2020-21.
