Match report
Rijeka hold on at Rudes after late scare to move up to third
HNK Rijeka beat Rudes 2-1 at Stadion Radnik in HNL Matchday 10, a result that lifted the visitors from fifth to third in the table. Samuele Vignato put them ahead after only five minutes, set up by Toni Fruk, and Rijeka took that 1-0 lead into the break.

Rudes had little of the ball, finishing with 30 per cent possession to Rijeka's 70, and the game turned on Vedran Celjak's red card in the 71st minute. Three minutes later Fruk made it 2-0 for the visitors, and with ten men the hosts looked beaten.
Rudes, though, pulled one back deep into stoppage time. Noa Skoko scored at 90+4 from Jurica Poldrugač's assist to make it 2-1, but there was no time left to find an equaliser. Rudes stay ninth on 7 points, 10 behind Rijeka, who have 17 from nine games.
