Profile
Noni Madueke is a left-footed winger who likes receiving on the right with room to face a defender. He carries the ball towards the penalty area and is willing to keep taking opponents on close to goal. That direct approach can move an attack from the touchline into a much more dangerous position.
He can also make his threat count without a long dribble. In Chelsea's 6–2 win at Wolves in August 2024, he repeatedly found space on the right and scored a hat-trick from Cole Palmer's passes. Madueke described waiting for the right moment; two of the finishes came with his weaker right foot.
Born in Barnet, Madueke spent his early academy years with Crystal Palace and Tottenham before moving to PSV Eindhoven in 2018. The move took him away from English academy football while he was still a teenager, and he progressed through PSV's youth and reserve sides towards the first team.
His first senior PSV appearances came in the 2019–20 season, followed by a bigger breakthrough the following campaign. In 2021 he scored twice against Ajax in the Johan Cruyff Shield. He also contributed to PSV's 2022 Dutch Cup run, although injury kept him out of the final itself.
Chelsea signed Madueke in January 2023. His time there included the Wolves hat-trick and a start in the 2025 Conference League final, which Chelsea won against Real Betis. His right-sided attacking role gave him opportunities both to carry possession forward and to arrive in space for a teammate's pass.
Madueke played in all six matches of England's victorious 2023 European Under-21 Championship campaign. His senior England debut followed against Finland in September 2024, taking him into the senior side after years of representing England through the younger age groups.
In July 2025 he moved from Chelsea to Arsenal, and he was part of the Gunners' 2025–26 Premier League title-winning team. His World Cup debut came in England's opening group-stage win over Croatia at the 2026 tournament.
