Profile
Mohammed Kudus is a Ghanaian attacker whose game is built around carrying the ball past opponents. From the right, he can cut inward onto his stronger left foot or take the ball outside with his right. That choice makes him difficult to steer in one direction; he can also escape tight spaces.
His path to senior football took him from Ghana to Denmark. Born in Nima, Accra, he came through Right to Dream before joining Nordsjælland in 2018. Ajax signed him in July 2020, bringing a player able to operate in midfield and attack.
His first two Ajax seasons brought silverware but repeated interruptions. A meniscus injury suffered against Liverpool disrupted his opening campaign, yet he returned for the 2020/21 league-and-cup double. He also featured in the 2021/22 title-winning side, then ended his Ajax career with a hat-trick against Ludogorets in a Europa League qualifier in August 2023.
Kudus joined West Ham that month and supplied a striking demonstration of his running threat against Freiburg in March 2024. His solo goal in a 5–0 Europa League win topped UEFA's fan vote for the competition's goal of the season. It was a memorable example of a player creating his own route to goal.
His international breakthroughs also involved decisive finishes. Kudus scored on his senior Ghana debut against South Africa in November 2019. At the 2022 World Cup, he scored twice in the 3–2 win over South Korea, restoring Ghana's lead after their opponents had recovered from two goals down.
He moved from West Ham to Tottenham in July 2025. Early analysis of his Spurs role showed another side to his game: he attacked the penalty area when play developed on the opposite flank, giving crosses another target rather than remaining outside the box.
In October 2025, Kudus scored the only goal against Comoros as Ghana secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup. He then missed the 2026 finals through injury.
Mohammed Kudus currently plays for Tottenham as a right winger. He has represented Ghana internationally.
