Profile
Giuliano Simeone is an Argentina international whose wing play combines speed with responsibility for the space behind him. Comfortable using either foot and playing on either flank, he offers an attacking outlet while also taking on the less visible work of following opponents back towards his own penalty area.
UEFA’s technical analysis of Atlético Madrid’s visit to Arsenal in October 2025 showed that balance in detail. Starting on the right, Simeone dropped into the defensive line when Myles Lewis-Skelly advanced and tucked back to protect the box against crosses from the opposite side. His movement helped Atlético switch between four and five defenders without making a substitution.
He joined Atlético’s academy in 2019 and progressed through the youth and reserve teams. During 2021/22, his 24 goals made him the leading scorer in Group 7 of Tercera RFEF as the reserves won promotion. He also made his first-team debut against Granada on 20 April 2022.
That debut was followed by two seasons away on loan: Real Zaragoza in 2022/23 and Deportivo Alavés in 2023/24. He returned to Atlético’s first-team squad in 2024, completing a route through youth football, the reserves and two other senior clubs before establishing his place in Madrid.
His first Atlético senior goal, against Las Palmas on 3 November 2024, illustrated the attacking side of that role. A through ball from Nahuel Molina found him on the right, where he finished across goal. He opened the scoring in a 2–0 win: a wide forward arriving in a position to finish.
International recognition brought another milestone in March 2025. Coming off the bench against Brazil, he scored his first goal for Argentina’s senior side in a 4–1 victory. The achievement added a national-team breakthrough to a career built through several levels of Spanish club football.
At the 2026 World Cup, Simeone made his tournament debut in Argentina’s 3–1 group-stage win over Jordan. Argentina went on to finish runners-up, losing the final 1–0 to Spain after extra time.
Giuliano Simeone currently plays for Atletico Madrid as a right winger. He has represented Argentina internationally.
