Profile
Alberto Moleiro is a Spanish attacking midfielder whose game connects dribbling, passing and finishing. He can work from the left or behind a striker, carrying the ball past opponents to move an attack through defensive lines. That ability to advance possession gives him more than one way to influence the same move: he can create the opening himself or arrive to finish it.
Born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Moleiro played for CD Sobradillo before developing in the Las Palmas youth system. He progressed from the club’s Juvenil A side into the first team and made his competitive senior debut against Real Valladolid on 15 August 2021. His early route into professional football was through Spain’s second division.
He then helped Las Palmas win promotion in the 2022/23 season. The club’s account of that campaign highlights his creativity, dribbling and vision: qualities that made him a contributor to the team’s attacking construction. Promotion took that development into the top flight, where he continued his Las Palmas career before moving to Villarreal.
Villarreal announced the transfer agreement in June 2025, during Moleiro’s involvement at the European Under-21 Championship. His Spain pathway had included the under-19s and an under-21 debut against Romania in September 2022. He also appeared at the 2025 under-21 finals, adding international tournament experience to his progression through the Spanish league system.
His February 2026 performance against Espanyol shows the two sides of his attacking role. After Pape Gueye won possession, Moleiro launched a counterattack and sent a ball into the area that José Salinas turned into his own net. Later, Moleiro scored after a pass from Georges Mikautadze. He had helped supply one goal and finished another in a 4–1 win.
Another important finish came against Levante in May 2026. With the score level, Moleiro struck from long range to put Villarreal back ahead in a 5–1 victory that secured Champions League qualification.
