Profile
Lucas Boyé is an Argentine centre-forward whose game extends beyond waiting for a chance in the penalty area. He wins fouls in several parts of the pitch, giving his side restarts, but he also attacks crosses and strikes from outside the box. Those different routes to goal help explain why he has worked both alongside another forward and as the central point of an attack.
He came through River Plate's youth system and reached its first team before a loan to Newell's Old Boys in 2015/16. Torino signed him in July 2016. Loans at Celta Vigo, AEK Athens and Reading followed, taking him through several leagues before he found a longer run in Spanish football. That route matters to his profile: the forward who later became a regular La Liga threat had first spent years adapting to different roles and teams.
Boyé joined Elche on loan for 2020/21, and the club subsequently exercised its option to buy him. A late winner away to Athletic Club in 2023 shows one part of his finishing: he arrived in the middle to meet Josan's cross after a counterattack.
Granada brought him in from Elche in August 2023. He played next to Myrto Uzuni against Betis and at the tip of the attack against Osasuna. In April 2025, during Granada's promotion push, La Liga named him its Segunda División Player of the Month.
A transfer from Granada to Alavés followed in 2025. In a September 2026 league win over Osasuna, Boyé scored twice with right-footed shots from outside the box and once with a header from a cross. Those three finishes neatly illustrate the mix of range and penalty-area movement in his game.
Called up by Argentina while at Elche, Boyé came on against Venezuela in a March 2022 World Cup qualifier. That international moment sits alongside a club career built through repeated moves and a growing variety of ways to lead the line.
Lucas Boyé currently plays for Alaves as a striker. He has represented Argentina internationally.
