Career & playing style
Keinan Davis gives an attack a route through crowded central areas. He receives with a defender close behind, protects the ball and brings a teammate into the move; with room ahead, he can carry it himself. Udinese coach Kosta Runjaić has praised his hold-up work against centre-backs, while a forceful run at Inter showed him carrying the ball himself. His strength serves both actions.
His path to senior football began away from a major academy. He played for Stevenage Borough and Biggleswade Town before impressing on trial at Aston Villa and joining its academy at 17. Davis has described the jump in standard there. He entered Villa's first team in 2016/17, appearing against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup in January 2017.
Villa's 2018/19 promotion brought him into a Premier League squad. In the second half of 2021/22 he was loaned to Nottingham Forest, contributing as Forest won promotion through the Championship play-offs. A 2022/23 loan to Watford gave him another Championship season.
Udinese signed him permanently from Villa in September 2023. The Italian club identified both his finishing and his contribution to build-up play. Davis expected a tactical, defensively demanding league. Holding off a centre-back gives teammates time to advance; his ability to drive into space makes him dangerous when a defence retreats too.
His first Udinese goal came in the final match of 2023/24. At Frosinone, his finish secured a 1–0 win and the points Udinese needed to stay in Serie A. It was a defining club moment after an opening season disrupted by injury.
At Inter in August 2025, Davis converted a penalty in Udinese's 2–1 win. He also drove upfield with the ball and narrowly missed the post. The two episodes show that he can move an attack towards goal as well as finish it.
In 2025/26 Davis scored ten Serie A goals. That scoring step sits alongside the less visible work of taking contact, keeping possession and making room for runners. His journey spans non-league football, the English top flight and a Serie A role shaped by link play and goals.
