Profile
Martin Baturina is a Croatian midfielder whose attacking game combines carrying the ball through pressure with passes into a runner’s path. He can make an opening himself, then use a teammate to continue the move.
Against Slaven Belupo in March 2025, he twice sent Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel into the penalty area after the opponents had been reduced to ten men. In another move, he slipped between two opponents on the left, exchanged passes with Wilfried Kanga and used a body feint to approach goal. A defender blocked the finish, but the sequence showed how dribbling and combination play could work together.
Baturina joined Dinamo’s youth setup at 14 and gained his first senior experience with the second team. His first-team debut came in spring 2021, with appearances in the final two league rounds of a title-winning season. He established himself in the senior squad the following season and reached his 100th official Dinamo appearance in February 2024.
European matches gave those skills a wider stage. He scored after a dribble in Dinamo’s 2–2 Champions League draw with Monaco in October 2024 and received UEFA’s Player of the Match award. Against Milan in January 2025, he pounced when Matteo Gabbia slipped and scored the opener in a 2–1 win. Dinamo nevertheless missed the knockout phase.
His move to Como took effect on 1 July 2025, after a Dinamo spell that included four Croatian league titles. On 10 September 2026, he scored Como’s first Champions League goal, opening a 4–1 victory over Leipzig.
His international progression also moved from youth football to major tournaments. Baturina made his senior Croatia debut against Latvia in November 2023 and played against Albania at EURO 2024. At the 2026 World Cup, he appeared in all four Croatian matches, scoring against England before the campaign ended with a 2–1 defeat by Portugal in the round of 32.
Martin Baturina currently plays for Como as an attacking midfielder. He has represented Croatia internationally.
