Overview

Como in brief

Founded in 1907, Como represent the city and province surrounding Lake Como. Known as I Lariani, a name derived from the lake's Latin name, the club wear blue and play at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia. Opened beside the waterfront in 1927, the stadium is named after a local athlete and war veteran and has a distinctive setting between the lake, the city centre and the surrounding hills.

Como's honours have largely marked successful climbs through the lower divisions, including three Serie C titles, a Serie D championship and cup victories at both levels. Successive promotions carried the club into Serie A for the first time in 1949, followed by a sixth-place finish in their debut top-flight campaign. Later generations returned Como to the leading divisions, with the 2021 Serie C title another important chapter in that recurring ascent.
