Profile
Jesús Rodríguez Caraballo is a winger from Alcalá de Guadaíra who runs at defenders. From the left, he can carry the ball towards the penalty area and force an opponent to choose between protecting the byline and closing the route inside. His directness can move a settled back line before a pass or shot is available.
He joined the Real Betis academy in summer 2021 and progressed through its youth and reserve sides. In 2024, Betis Deportivo won promotion to Primera Federación, with Rodríguez scoring in the decisive play-off match at Pontevedra. Betis gave him his senior debut in an October 2024 Copa del Rey tie against CD Gévora.
Spain won the 2024 European Under-19 Championship by beating France in the final, and Rodríguez entered as a late substitute. Iker Bravo and Assane Diao scored the final’s goals.
His Betis season reached the 2025 UEFA Conference League final. Rodríguez scored against Jagiellonia in the quarter-finals, taking advantage of a loose ball in the box, and came off the bench against Chelsea in the final. Chelsea won 4–1. The run showed a dribbler also arriving in scoring positions when a move broke open.
For Spain’s under-21s, Rodríguez started against Italy at the June 2025 European Championship and finished a move from Raúl Moro’s delivery. The draw sent Spain through as group winners, but England eliminated them in the quarter-finals. That September, Rodríguez made his senior Spain debut as a substitute against Bulgaria in World Cup qualifying. He also played against Iraq in June 2026.
Rodríguez moved permanently from Betis to Como in 2025. In Italy, his one-on-one ability met a different demand: in a club interview he described his coach asking wingers to press hard as well as take opponents on. That pressure can force hurried possession and give direct running a better starting point.
A February 2026 league win over Lecce illustrated creation and finishing: he supplied Tasos Douvikas for an equaliser before scoring himself. In May, he came off the bench against Parma and assisted Alberto Moreno’s winner.
Jesús Rodríguez currently plays for Como as a left winger. He has represented Spain internationally.
