Profile
Warren Zaïre-Emery is a French midfielder who can turn a recovery into an attack by driving through pressure. He combines the strength to keep moving through a challenge with the judgement to stay near his midfield partners when the defence needs protection.
Born on 8 March 2006 in Montreuil, he began with FCM Aubervilliers before joining Paris Saint-Germain’s youth system in April 2014. He progressed through the academy and helped France win the European Under-17 Championship in 2022.
His appearance against Clermont on 6 August 2022 made him the youngest player to feature in a competitive match for PSG. The following season brought a defining European goal: in December 2023, he scored away to Borussia Dortmund to help Paris reach the Champions League knockout stages.
His influence was already visible against AC Milan in October 2023. UEFA’s technical observers highlighted how he collected the ball in his own half, resisted Tijjani Reijnders’ challenge and carried forward before finding Kylian Mbappé. Another forward run ended in a cutback for Lee Kang-In. His two assists in the 3–0 win showed how a midfielder can create chances by moving the ball through opponents himself.
He scored on his senior France debut against Gibraltar on 18 November 2023. The goal illustrated his willingness to continue an attack after passing: he accelerated through midfield, released Kingsley Coman on the right and kept running to finish the return cross in a 14–0 win.
With PSG, he was part of the Champions League-winning teams of 2025 and 2026. His contribution also extended beyond midfield: he started at right-back in the May 2026 semi-final second leg at Bayern Munich, where a 1–1 draw sent Paris into the final. PSG then retained the trophy by beating Arsenal on penalties.
At the 2026 World Cup, he made his tournament debut as a substitute against Morocco in the quarter-finals. He then started against England in the third-place match, which France lost 6–4 to finish fourth. These were his first appearances at a senior international finals tournament.
Warren Zaïre-Emery currently plays for Paris Saint Germain as a central midfielder. He has represented France internationally.
