Profile
Kévin Danois developed at Auxerre as a midfielder who can affect a move at several stages. He does more than circulate possession: carrying past an opponent can open a route forward, while his willingness to arrive near the penalty area gives teammates another option when an attack develops.
He was born in Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe, and played for La Gauloise before moving to Auxerre in 2019. He became a professional in 2021, coming through the club's academy and reserve side before reaching the senior team.
Danois was part of the Auxerre squad that won the 2023/24 Ligue 2 title. He scored against Laval in April 2024 as the club closed in on the championship. He was still a developing player earning senior minutes at the time.
His role grew after promotion. Auxerre described 2024/25 as his breakthrough Ligue 1 season, and by early 2025/26 he had established himself in the starting side, becoming a regular central option after entering the senior picture gradually.
There is a useful contrast in his game. He operates in midfield, yet his dribbling can move an attack through pressure rather than merely keep the ball safe. Ligue 1's review of 2025/26 dribbling singled out his efficiency among players with substantial attempts. He also combines quickly with teammates and delivers from wide positions.
He can finish a move as well as help start one. Against Metz in December 2025, he struck first time from the edge of the box after an earlier effort was ruled out for offside. In April 2026 he scored away to Monaco when a corner was not cleared, showing a different route to goal from midfield.
Danois also progressed through France's youth teams. He played for the under-16s and under-18s, then appeared for the under-21s in a September 2025 friendly against Serbia. He later played 2027 European Under-21 Championship qualifiers in 2026, including a start against Estonia that September.
Kévin Danois currently plays for Auxerre as a central midfielder.
