Profile
Ilan Kebbal is an Algerian attacking midfielder whose left foot gives him several ways to create from the right. He can move inside to curl a shot, deliver a cross or play a runner beyond the defence. His best moments connect dribbling with a purposeful final action.
Born in Marseille, Kebbal began playing in his home city before joining Bordeaux’s academy. His route into senior football included FC Côte Bleue in National 3 and a move to Reims. A loan to Dunkerque in 2020 brought Ligue 2 experience before he went on to play in the top division with Reims.
Paris FC offered another route forward. He arrived on loan in September 2022 and made the move permanent in July 2023. The change became an important stage in his development: after returning to the second tier, he helped Paris win promotion to Ligue 1 in 2025.
The final home league match against Ajaccio that May showed the range of his contribution. Kebbal cut in from the right and struck the frame of the goal, then later controlled the ball and measured a cross for Jean-Philippe Krasso to head in. He could threaten goal himself while still taking time to find a teammate.
That combination carried into the top flight. Against Marseille in August 2025, he curled a shot in from outside the area and sent Moses Simon through behind the defence. He also scored twice against Metz that month. The UNFP named him Ligue 1’s player of the month for August, marking his return to that level.
Another example came in September 2026. Against Strasbourg, Kebbal combined with Lassine Sinayoko before lifting a left-footed finish over the goalkeeper in a 2–1 win. The goal paired combination play with a delicate finish, adding another route to goal alongside the shooting and crossing in those earlier games.
His international pathway has been less continuous. Kebbal was absent from Algeria’s 2026 World Cup squad, but was recalled in September 2026 for a gathering that included Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Zambia and Burundi. That selection was another opportunity to establish his creative role at international level.
