Giorgi Kvernadze starts on the left, but his threat is not limited to running outside a defender. He can carry infield for a shot, combine with a teammate, or attack space behind a defence that has pushed forward. The same starting position works in settled attacks and counterattacks.
Frosinone introduced the Georgian winger in July 2023 for its 2023–24 Serie A season. In the club's interview, Kvernadze named the left wing as his preferred position. He receives wide, then looks for the route towards goal rather than treating the flank as his only destination.
The club exercised its option to take him from Kolkheti Poti in July 2024. In March 2025, during a Serie B win over Brescia, a diagonal pass reached him on the left; he controlled it, beat a defender and curled a right-footed shot into the net. The move shows how his wide starting point can become a direct scoring chance when he drives across his marker.
There is a creative side too. In a September 2025 league match against Cesena, the official play-by-play records him setting up shots for Farès Ghedjemis and Antonio Raimondo, as well as testing the goalkeeper with both feet from the left of the area. He helped create openings even without scoring or receiving a goal assist.
Kvernadze started for Georgia against Portugal at the June 2025 European Under-21 Championship, according to UEFA's full-time team sheet. Georgia's group campaign ended there after an earlier win over Poland and a defeat to France.
Frosinone earned direct promotion from Serie B in May 2026 after finishing second behind Venezia. In the September Serie A draw at Genoa, Kvernadze received a pass, escaped his marker and finished the opening goal. Later that month, the league described his breakaway goal against Como: with the visitors committed forward, he ran into the open field and scored Frosinone's second.
Those September goals illustrate different parts of his range. One came from creating room against a nearby defender; the other from exploiting a defence left exposed. Alongside the earlier Brescia finish and chances made against Cesena, they explain how his left-sided role can affect a match in more than one way.
