Overview

FC Andorra in brief

FC Andorra were founded in Andorra la Vella in 1942 and, through their affiliation with the Catalan Football Federation, have played in the Spanish league system since 1948. Their blue, yellow and red kit, taken from the Andorran flag, gives them the nickname Els Tricolors. After spells at the Estadi Comunal d'Aixovall, Prada de Moles in Encamp and, from 2021, the Estadi Nacional, the club moved in June 2025 to the Estadi de la FAF d'Encamp, the Andorran federation's new ground opened that May.

Andorra won promotion to Segunda Division B in 1980, and in 1994 they won the Copa Catalunya, beating Barcelona in the semi-finals and Espanyol on penalties in the final; they lifted the trophy again in 2023 and 2024. After sliding to the Catalan regional leagues, the club climbed back and won their Primera Federacion group in 2021-22 to reach Segunda Division for the first time. Relegated in 2024, they returned through the play-offs in June 2025, beating Ponferradina 2-1 on aggregate in the final.
