Overview

Eldense in brief

CD Eldense were founded in Elda, in the Valencian Community, on 17 September 1921 by a group of FC Barcelona supporters known as Los Cabezotas. The club play in blue and garnet, hence the nickname Azulgranas. Eldense played at El Parque from 1923 and from 1964 at a municipal stadium later named after Pepico Amat, a former goalkeeper and coach of the club who died in December 1994. Since September 2012 home has been the Estadio Municipal Nuevo Pepico Amat.

Most of Eldense's history has been spent in the Tercera Division, which they have won 12 times. They first reached Segunda Division in 1956 and had five seasons there before 1964, with a best finish of seventh in 1962-63. After a 59-year absence they returned in 2023, going up on their better league position after a 4-4 play-off aggregate with Real Madrid Castilla. Relegated in 2025, they went straight back up in 2026 as Primera Federacion Group 2 champions.
