Hradec Králové

FC Hradec Kralove date their founding to 1905, when local wine merchant Jindrich Komarek arranged for the town's football group to join the Club of Czech Cyclists, playing as SK Hradec Kralove. Later names included Sokol, Skoda and, from 1953, Spartak Hradec Kralove; SK Hradec Kralove returned in 1994 and the present name followed in 2005. The colours are black and white, and the team is nicknamed "Votroci". After decades at the Vsesportovni stadion, demolished in 2021, the club moved into a new stadium in 2023, renamed FINEP Arena in 2026.

Hradec first reached the Czechoslovak First League in 1956 and, after a relegation, won the title in 1959-60 under coach Jiri Zastera. In the 1960-61 European Cup they knocked out Panathinaikos before losing to Barcelona in the quarter-finals. A Czech Cup win in 1995 led to a Cup Winners' Cup run ended by Dynamo Moscow. Hradec have often switched divisions, winning the second tier in 2000-01, 2009-10 and 2020-21. Fourth place in 2025-26 brought European football in 2026: they beat Tromso, then lost to Besiktas and to Panathinaikos (4-3 on aggregate).
