Club Brugge KV in brief

Founded in 1891, Club Brugge are one of Belgium's oldest and most successful football clubs. Based in Bruges and known as Blauw-Zwart for their blue-and-black colours, the club have developed a national following while retaining a strong West Flanders identity. Home matches are played at the Jan Breydel Stadium, shared with Cercle Brugge and named after a figure associated with the city's medieval history.

Club Brugge have won 20 Belgian league titles and a record 12 Belgian Cups. Their most prominent European era came under Ernst Happel, whose side reached the 1976 UEFA Cup final and the 1978 European Cup final, losing both to Liverpool.
