Late Lembezat strike snatches Dijon a point at Montpellier
Montpellier were denied victory in stoppage time as Dijon claimed a 1-1 draw in this opening-round Ligue 2 fixture at the Stade de la Mosson. Yaël Mouanga looked to have won it for the hosts deep into the match, only for Adel Lembezat to level for the visitors moments later.
AI-assisted match report written from official match data.
Montpellier dominated for long periods, holding 55 percent of possession and firing 22 shots to Dijon's 10, with five of those on target. The breakthrough finally came in the 90th minute when Mouanga converted, assisted by Théo Sainte-Luce, to put Zoumana Camara's side ahead.
Any celebration was short-lived. In the third minute of added time, Lembezat struck to snatch a share of the points for Baptiste Ridira's Dijon, denying Montpellier what would have been a first win of the campaign after both sides had opened the season level on one point apiece.
Mouanga's late goal for Montpellier earned him a share of the top rating on the night, matched by Dijon's Lenny Lacroix despite the away side's point coming through Lembezat's leveller.
Montpellier's dominance was underlined by their 22 shots to Dijon's 10 across the match.
