Profile
Jude Bellingham is an English midfielder who can build an attack and then become its finisher. He advances play with forward passes and carries, while his movement without the ball turns a position behind the forwards into an opportunity to attack the penalty area.
Born on 29 June 2003 in Stourbridge, he played grassroots football with Stourbridge Juniors and developed in Birmingham City’s academy. After one senior season at Birmingham, he moved to Borussia Dortmund in summer 2020, taking his development into Bundesliga and Champions League football.
Dortmund gave that range of skills a bigger stage. He helped win the German Cup in 2020/21, starting all six matches of the successful campaign. Two seasons later, he was named Bundesliga Player of the Season for 2022/23.
Real Madrid signed him in June 2023. His first campaign, 2023/24, brought 23 goals in 42 club appearances across all competitions, alongside Champions League, LaLiga and Spanish Super Cup titles. Those goals showed how much scoring he could add from midfield.
For England at EURO 2024, he supplied one of the tournament’s most dramatic interventions: an overhead-kick equaliser against Slovakia in the fifth minute of added time. It forced extra time in the round of 16, before Harry Kane scored the winner.
At the 2026 World Cup, Bellingham scored seven goals as England finished third. That established a men’s England record for goals at a single World Cup or European Championship, giving his attacking role a defining international milestone.
The detail behind that threat is his relationship with the striker. FIFA’s analysis of the 2026 tournament showed him moving into the space Kane vacated when dropping towards midfield. On crosses, the pair could split towards opposite posts, making defenders choose whom to follow. Bellingham’s runs from deeper positions let him arrive beyond the midfield without having to remain a fixed centre-forward.
Jude Bellingham currently plays for Real Madrid as an attacking midfielder. He has represented England internationally.
