Profile
Bradley Locko is a left-footed defender whose best-known role is at left-back. His outside runs stretch opponents, while his crossing supplies a route into the box. He previously played at centre-back, and Reims also described him as tough in direct contests.
Locko's route into senior football ran through Montrouge, Lorient and Reims. At Montrouge he was part of an under-17 side that reached the national semi-finals in 2019; Lorient then moved him quickly into its reserve group. Reims recruited him in June 2020, initially for its second team. He made his Ligue 1 debut against Montpellier on 15 August 2021, a step up from reserve football.
A loan to Brest in January 2023 changed his opportunity. Reims described the move as a chance for regular football after his path at left-back had narrowed. Brest subsequently kept him on a permanent basis in the summer of 2023. The temporary move became a settled first-team role.
The fit was visible in Brest's 2023/24 season. Their attack leaned heavily on deliveries into the box, so width on the left mattered even when the final cross came from someone else. Locko's ability to advance and cross made him a natural part of that shape. At the same time, league analysis recorded him ahead of teammate Romain Del Castillo for duels won by February 2024, evidence that his contribution was not confined to attacking runs.
Brest finished third in Ligue 1 that season, earning the club's first place in European competition. Locko was named in the 2023/24 UNFP Ligue 1 team of the year, alongside teammate Pierre Lees-Melou. The team achievement and the individual recognition describe different things: one was Brest's historic finish, the other a vote on Locko's season at left-back.
France then selected him for the men's tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The federation's match sheet lists him as a starter against New Zealand in the group stage, while its final report shows him coming on for Adrien Truffert against Spain. France lost that final after extra time and took silver. His part in that run is a concrete international milestone, rather than a senior France appearance.
In August 2024, shortly after the Olympics, he suffered a serious Achilles tendon injury. He was out for nine months and missed Brest's first Champions League campaign.
Bradley Locko currently plays for Stade Brestois 29 as a left-back.
