Overview
Cambuur in brief
SC Cambuur, sometimes called Cambuur Leeuwarden, were founded on 19 June 1964 in Leeuwarden, the capital of Friesland, as the city's new professional club after VV Leeuwarden returned to amateur football. The club play in yellow shirts and blue shorts, and since August 2024 their home has been the 15,000-seat Kooi Stadion, a purpose-built ground that replaced the old Cambuur Stadion.
Cambuur have won the second-tier Eerste Divisie three times, in 1991-92, 2012-13 and 2020-21, and each of those titles brought promotion to the Eredivisie. The club also won the third-tier Tweede Divisie in 1964-65, their first season, and in 1998 returned to the top flight through the promotion play-offs, staying for two seasons. Most recently, Cambuur were promoted to the Eredivisie in 2026 as Eerste Divisie runners-up.

The name comes from the Cambuursterhoek district of Leeuwarden, named after the medieval Van Cammingha family, whose castle stood where the old stadium was later built; a modernised version of the family's shield serves as the club crest, while the yellow and blue are the city colours of Leeuwarden. Cambuur's fiercest rivalry is the Frisian derby with SC Heerenveen, and supporters of both clubs sometimes refer to each other as DKV, short for Dertig Kilometer Verderop, or "thirty kilometres down the road".
On this page you can follow Cambuur's fixtures, results, squad, team and player stats, match analysis and video highlights.
Cambuur are 9th in the Eredivisie in 2026/27 with 15 points from 11 games (4W 3D 4L). They have won 4 of their last 5.
Rafik El Arguioui is Cambuur's top scorer this season with 6 goals.
