Overview

Virtus Entella in brief

Virtus Entella trace their history to Entella Foot-Ball Club, founded in Chiavari in 1914 and named after the river Entella, which runs between Chiavari and Lavagna. After the old club went bankrupt in 2001, a new one was formed in 2002 and later took the name Virtus Entella. White and sky blue stripes give the nickname I Biancocelesti. Home is the Stadio Comunale Enrico Sannazzari, named in 2025 after one of the club's founders and its first captain.

Entella won Serie D groups in 1959-60 and 1963-64, and in 1984-85, coached by Gian Piero Ventura, climbed from the Interregionale to Serie C2. The modern club reached Serie B for the first time in 2014 after winning its Lega Pro Prima Divisione group, and returned as Serie C group winners in 2019 and 2025. The 2024-25 side finished nine points clear with 83 points, lost only one league match and also won the Supercoppa di Serie C.
