Overview

Brighton in brief

Founded in 1901, Brighton & Hove Albion are the leading club of the Sussex coast. Based in Brighton and Hove and known as the Seagulls, they spent many decades moving between the Football League divisions before reaching the Premier League. Their home is Falmer Stadium, widely known to supporters as the Amex.

Brighton's honours include the 1910 FA Charity Shield and several lower-tier league titles, including championships in the third and fourth tiers. The club is also defined by survival and rebuilding after the loss of the Goldstone Ground, a period that made later progress central to Albion's modern identity.
