Overview

Leeds in brief

Founded in 1919, Leeds United are the leading club of Leeds and one of Yorkshire's best-known football institutions. Known as the Whites, they play at Elland Road, a ground closely tied to the club's identity and support. Leeds were formed after the collapse of Leeds City and built their name in the Football League.

Leeds' honours include three English top-flight league titles, the FA Cup, the League Cup and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups. The club's defining era came under Don Revie, whose teams of the 1960s and early 1970s were organised, competitive and influential in shaping Leeds' national and European profile.
