Barcelona

Founded in 1899, Barcelona are one of the most successful and widely followed clubs in world football. Based in the Catalan capital and known to supporters as Barça, the club is closely tied to Catalan identity, a bond captured in its motto "Més que un club" ("More than a club"). Barcelona play their home matches at Camp Nou, one of the largest stadiums in European football.

Barcelona are five-time European champions, winning the continent's premier club competition in 1992, 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2015, alongside a long list of Spanish league and cup titles. The team is associated with a possession-based passing style that reached its peak under Pep Guardiola, whose side of the late 2000s is widely regarded as one of the greatest in the sport's history.
