Sirius · Why these numbers
Before kick-off Sirius gave Lillestrom 27%, the draw 26%, Torreense 47%. It finished Lillestrom 1–2 Torreense.
Torreense's rating gap outweighs Lillestrom's home ground — Torreense are clearly the stronger side on our strength rating, and that is most of Torreense's 47%. The draw at 26% is trimmed by a league that produces few draws.
Why Torreense at 47%?
Torreense sit 258 points higher on our strength rating — 1338 to 1596. Sides with a 200–300-point rating edge on the road won 52.0% of 6,094 such games. The 300 most similar past games finished 26–27–47.
Why only 47%?
UEFA Europa League home sides out-perform the global norm — and the difference mostly flows to draws (22.8% vs 24.9% norm). UEFA Europa League homes won 47.6% of 4,447 games vs 44.9% across all 100,266 — outside the noise band, so the tally moves accordingly.
Why the draw at 26%?
With a rating gap this size the draw starts at 26.5%. These teams' recent games average 2.3 goals — a typical goals environment. Games in that environment drew 26.2% of 27,842. UEFA Europa League produces fewer draws than most, taking 2.1 points off. The goals environment adds 1.3 points to the draw.
What did we measure but not count?
Torreense arrive with 24 fully-tracked matches, so their strength number is a first estimate that will move quickly; Lillestrom bring a 8-game record. New-to-the-record sides are where our rating knows least. Lillestrom have 8 fully-tracked matches with us — under our usual 25-game bar — but their strength rating is anchored to the long-run European club ratings list, which carries their wider competitive history into the number. Clubs from leagues we don't fully cover play too few tracked games for a record built from scratch, so their rating chain starts from published long-run club ratings instead of a blind first guess.
