Profile
Désiré Doué is a French forward who can unsettle a defence without staying on one wing. He combines individual skill with movement across the attack, offering a pass inside or appearing alongside the winger on the opposite flank.
Born in Angers on 3 June 2005, he entered the Stade Rennais youth system in 2011 and made his professional debut against Lorient in August 2022. His early first-team seasons included decisive goals against Nantes and Dynamo Kyiv, with Rennes valuing both his attacking technique and his ability to recover possession.
International success arrived while he was still developing in Brittany. Doué helped France win the European Under-17 Championship in 2022, then earned a silver medal with the French team at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
He joined Paris Saint-Germain in August 2024. On 31 May 2025, he scored twice and supplied an assist in the 5–0 Champions League final victory over Inter, helping Paris claim their first Champions League title. He was named Player of the Match and the competition’s Young Player of the Season.
A year later, on 30 May 2026, Doué started another Champions League final. Paris retained the trophy against Arsenal, winning the penalty shootout 4–3 after a 1–1 draw following extra time. His first two seasons in Paris had brought two Champions League titles.
His senior France debut came against Croatia in March 2025. At the 2026 World Cup, he scored in the 4–1 group-stage win over Norway, a further step from youth international to senior tournament football. France finished fourth after losing the third-place match to England.
His movement helps explain the range of his influence. UEFA’s analysis of the 2026 semi-final against Bayern highlighted him leaving the right wing to join Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the left, giving Paris two attackers against one defender. In another sequence, he drew Alphonso Davies into the centre. These changes of position can create space for teammates as well as routes towards goal for Doué himself.
Désiré Doué currently plays for Paris Saint Germain as a right winger. He has represented France internationally.
