SC Paderborn 07

SC Paderborn 07 trace their roots to 1907, with the modern club formed by a 1985 merger of clubs from Schloss Neuhaus and Paderborn. Initially called TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus, they adopted their present name in 1997. The familiar shorthand SCP07 preserves that founding-year reference. Their blue and black colours represent a club rooted in Paderborn and the East Westphalian region of Germany.

Paderborn won the Oberliga Westfalen in 1994, when it was a regional third-tier competition, but missed promotion through the subsequent play-offs. A breakthrough into the 2. Bundesliga followed in 2005. Andre Breitenreiter then led the club to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2014. After successive relegations, Steffen Baumgart oversaw consecutive promotions in 2018 and 2019, taking Paderborn from the third tier back to the top flight.
