Overview

Padova in brief

Padova were founded on 29 January 1910 at the headquarters of the Rari Nantes Patavium club, with Baron Giorgio Treves de' Bonfili as the first president. White and red have been the colours from the start, and the shirt carries the city shield, a red cross on white, which gives the nickname Biancoscudati. The Stadio Silvio Appiani, opened in 1924, was home for 70 years; the larger Stadio Comunale Euganeo opened in 1994.

Padova have spent 16 seasons in Serie A. The best came in 1957-58, when Nereo Rocco's side, with Kurt Hamrin among its stars, finished third. The club won Group B of a three-group Serie B in 1947-48 and have taken three Serie C titles, most recently in 2024-25, when they edged out Vicenza to return to Serie B after six years. Two Coppa Italia Serie C wins, in 1979-80 and 2021-22, two Serie C2 titles and the 2018 Supercoppa di Serie C are among the other honours.
