Overview

Nashville SC in brief

Nashville SC were founded in 2016 and played two seasons in the USL Championship, in 2018 and 2019. MLS awarded the city an expansion team on 20 December 2017, with John Ingram as principal owner, and the first MLS match was a 2-1 home defeat by Atlanta United at Nissan Stadium on 29 February 2020. Since May 2022 the team has played at GEODIS Park, a 30,000-seat ground at the Nashville Fairgrounds that opened as the largest soccer-specific stadium in the United States and Canada.

Nashville reached the 2023 Leagues Cup final at GEODIS Park, losing 10-9 on penalties to Inter Miami after a 1-1 draw. The club's first trophy was the 2025 U.S. Open Cup, won 2-1 against Austin FC in Austin on 1 October 2025 with goals from Hany Mukhtar and Sam Surridge. On 24 October 2026 a 2-0 win at CF Montreal, again with goals from Surridge and Mukhtar, clinched the 2026 Supporters' Shield, the club's first, with three regular-season games to spare.
