Anderlecht

Founded in 1908, Anderlecht are Belgium's most decorated league club and the principal football institution of the Brussels municipality that bears their name. The purple-and-white colours produce the nickname Paars-wit, while the club's wider identity combines capital-city status with neighbourhood roots. Anderlecht play at Lotto Park in Astrid Park, the compact ground previously named after long-serving chairman Constant Vanden Stock.

Anderlecht have won 34 Belgian league titles, nine Belgian Cups, two UEFA Cup Winners' Cups and the 1983 UEFA Cup. The 1970s and early 1980s were their defining continental era, shaped by coaches including Raymond Goethals and Paul Van Himst. Those sides combined technical possession with inventive attacking players and made Anderlecht the most successful Belgian club in major UEFA competition.
