Overview

RAAL La Louvière in brief

RAAL La Louviere are the football club of La Louviere in the province of Hainaut. The club revives the name of the historic Royale Association Athletique Louvieroise, which disappeared in 2009 after 96 years, and has played in La Louviere since 2017, using the registration of a club founded in 1919 in Couillet, part of Charleroi. Nicknamed Les Loups after La Louviere's identity as the Cite des Loups, the team wear green and white and in 2025 moved from the Stade du Tivoli to the Easi Arena, a new 8,050-capacity ground built beside it.

The original RAA Louvieroise enjoyed its greatest moment in 2003, beating Sint-Truiden 3-1 in the Belgian Cup final and going on to face Benfica in the UEFA Cup. That club, which also won the third division in 1970 and 1994, was struck off in 2009 after serious financial problems, and those honours were won under that earlier registration.
