AI-assisted match report written from official match data.
A. Bourabaa opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, and he turned provider 12 minutes later, teeing up Lucas Calodat to make it 2-0. Lens responded almost immediately through Abdallah Sima, who converted a Florian Thauvin assist deep into first-half stoppage time to make it 2-1 at the break.
Franjo Ivanović levelled for the visitors six minutes into the second half, finishing off a Ruben Aguilar assist to complete the turnaround and settle the score at 2-2, a scoreline that held for the remainder of the match.
Lens edged the shot count 16 to 12 and forced six efforts on target to Le Mans' four, while also winning far more corners, though Le Mans held the greater share of possession at 53 percent.
Ivanović scored the equaliser six minutes after the restart and finished with the highest rating on the pitch at 8.06. Bourabaa also caught the eye for the hosts, scoring one and setting up another in a lively first half.
Lens claimed nine corners to Le Mans' three, a marked disparity given they trailed for much of the first half.

Sirius · Why these numbers
Before kick-off Sirius gave Le Mans 21%, the draw 25%, Lens 54%. It finished Le Mans 2–2 Lens.
Lens' rating gap outweighs Le Mans' home ground — Lens are clearly the stronger side on our strength rating, and the early-season home fade on top gives Lens the lean. The draw at 25% is lifted by the early-season fade in home wins.
Why Lens at 54%?
Lens sit 285 points higher on our strength rating — 1622 to 1908. Sides with a 200–300-point rating edge on the road won 52.0% of 6,084 such games. Both sides are inside their first six league games — home wins land softer this early in the season, so this trims Le Mans's column. Across 11,115 opening-stretch games since 2010, home sides won 42.6% where the rating map expected 44.9%, with draws up 2.1 — negative in every season since 2018. The 300 most similar past games finished 22–23–55.
Why only 54%?
No scored evidence points the other way. 54% is what this rating gap has been worth in games like these; the rest is the draw at 25% and Le Mans at 21%.
Why the draw at 25%?
With a rating gap this size the draw starts at 23.3%. These teams' recent games average 3.0 goals — a typical goals environment. Games in that environment drew 24.6% of 25,076. Early-season fixtures add 2.1 points to the draw.
What did we measure but not count?
Le Mans are unbeaten in their last 15 league games at home (8 wins, 7 draws), a run going back to September 2025. Rolling home runs look imposing but sides on a 6+ run won 56.2% of 13,607 games vs 54.5% class-expected — and in our walked test the rating already carried it, as it did for the season-long record. Le Mans are newly promoted — game 4 of their first ten at this level, where our rating knows them least. Promoted sides ran below their rating in nine of the last ten seasons — 26.5% wins in their first ten games where the rating expected 30.0% (2,793 games since 2012), fading but still visible through game nineteen. The other measured facts on this page scored nothing either.
