Twente edge past Telstar thanks to Ørjasæter strike
Twente secured a 1-0 win over Telstar in matchday three of the Eredivisie at De Grolsch Veste, moving them up to fifth in the table while Telstar remain stuck in 14th. The only goal of a one-sided contest came in the second half, settling an otherwise goalless opening period.
AI-assisted match report written from official match data.
The breakthrough arrived in the 65th minute when Sondre Ørjasæter converted an assist from Younes Taha to put the home side ahead, a lead they would not relinquish. Telstar, already toiling for a foothold in the game, never mustered a response as Twente controlled proceedings through to the final whistle.
Twente dominated territorially and in the final third, racking up 22 shots to Telstar's three and enjoying 63 percent of possession, a reflection of how comfortably J. van den Brom's side dictated the match. Telstar's discipline also suffered, picking up three yellow cards to Twente's one as the visitors struggled to contain the pressure.
Ørjasæter scored the decisive goal and earned the highest rating of the match at 8.2, capping a productive afternoon in front of goal for Twente.
Twente's 22 shots to Telstar's three underlined just how one-sided the contest was in terms of attacking output.

Sirius · Why these numbers
Before kick-off Sirius gave Twente 66%, the draw 20%, Telstar 14%. It finished Twente 1–0 Telstar.
Twente's rating gap decides it — Twente are clearly the stronger side on our strength rating, and that is most of Twente's 66%. The draw at 20% is about what a gap this size usually leaves.
Why Twente at 66%?
Twente sit 238 points higher on our strength rating — 1777 to 1540. Sides with a 200–300-point rating edge at home won 67.0% of 5,987 such games. The 300 most similar past games finished 68–17–15.
Why only 66%?
Both sides are inside their first six league games — home wins land softer this early in the season, so this trims Twente's column. Across 11,034 opening-stretch games since 2010, home sides won 42.7% where the rating map expected 44.9%, with draws up 2.0 — negative in every season since 2018.
Why is the draw only 20%?
With a rating gap this size the draw starts at 19.6%. These teams' recent games average 3.6 goals — a high-scoring environment. Games in that environment drew 22.8% of 17,158. Early-season fixtures add 2.0 points to the draw. The goals environment takes 1.7 points off the draw.
What did we measure but not count?
Twente average 17 points more possession, but the rating gap here is 238 points. Our control receipt only exists between near-equals — there it moved results; across a class gap we could not measure a separate style edge, so style scores 0 here. Telstar come into this after a busy window — 10 arrivals and 14 departures over the summer. Squad turnover reads dramatic but hasn't moved results once the rating is controlled: the busiest windows landed within noise across 5,368 games, rebuilt elevens likewise across 5,446, and even losing the most regular starters showed nothing (5,336). The other measured facts on this page scored nothing either.
