Nicolás González opened the scoring in the ninth minute, converting from an assist by Kamil Grabara. Kerim-Sam Alajbegović doubled the advantage on 24 minutes, teed up by Weston McKennie, before Nick Woltemade added a third from the penalty spot in the 35th minute to send Juventus in at half-time already 3-0 clear.
The hosts continued to press after the interval, with Zeki Çelik finishing an assist from Randal Kolo Muani in the 75th minute to make it four. Starting line-ups
Juventus (3-4-2-1)

Sirius · Why these numbers
Before kick-off Sirius gave Juventus 77%, the draw 17%, NEC Nijmegen 6%. It finished Juventus 5–0 NEC Nijmegen.
Juventus' rating gap decides it — Juventus are clearly the stronger side on our strength rating, and UEFA Europa League home advantage on top makes it one-sided for Juventus. The draw at 17% is trimmed by a league that produces few draws.
Why Juventus at 77%?
Juventus sit 343 points higher on our strength rating — 1970 to 1627. Sides with a more than 300-point rating edge at home won 79.8% of 5,136 such games. UEFA Europa League home sides out-perform the global norm — and the difference mostly flows to draws (22.8% vs 24.9% norm). UEFA Europa League homes won 47.6% of 4,447 games vs 44.9% across all 100,266 — outside the noise band, so the tally moves accordingly. The 300 most similar past games finished 74–20–6.
Why not higher?
No scored evidence points the other way. 77% is what this rating gap has been worth in games like these; the rest is the draw at 17% and NEC Nijmegen at 6%.
Why is the draw only 17%?
With a rating gap this size the draw starts at 18.2%. These teams' recent games average 2.7 goals — a typical goals environment. Games in that environment drew 26.2% of 27,842. UEFA Europa League produces fewer draws than most, taking 2.1 points off.
What did we measure but not count?
NEC Nijmegen are missing their first-choice keeper and 3 more regular starters — Gonzalo Crettaz, Darko Nejašmić, Bryan Linssen — about 42% of their usual starting-XI weight. A body count alone told us nothing. NEC Nijmegen played 3 competitive matches between 5–12 September 2026 (UTC dates). Juventus played 2 matches in the same 14-day window before kickoff. The busier schedule is worth watching.
