Profile
Harry Kane is an English striker who can organise an attack as well as finish it. By dropping towards midfield, he gives team-mates a target for passes and makes room for runners beyond him. At Tottenham, that exchange of positions helped Son Heung-min attack the space behind defenders.
Born on 28 July 1993 in Walthamstow, London, Kane developed through Tottenham’s youth system. Loans at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City preceded his breakthrough in 2014/15, when he scored 31 goals in all competitions for Spurs, including 21 in the Premier League.
His creative contribution became especially clear in 2020/21. Kane finished with 23 Premier League goals and 14 assists, winning both the Golden Boot and Playmaker awards. The same player could supply the decisive pass from deeper positions and lead the league’s scoring chart.
In February 2023, his winning goal against Manchester City took him to 267 for Tottenham, surpassing Jimmy Greaves as the club’s record scorer. He ended his Spurs career that summer with 280 goals in all competitions, before joining Bayern Munich in August.
Kane scored 36 Bundesliga goals in his first German league season, 2023/24, finishing as the competition’s top scorer. The 2024/25 Bundesliga title then brought his first major team honour, adding a championship to the individual awards that had marked his years in England.
Bayern completed a league and cup double in 2025/26, with Kane scoring a hat-trick in the 3-0 DFB Cup final victory over Stuttgart. That match showed his range: he collected the ball deep to help build attacks, then scored with a header, an open-play finish and a penalty.
For England, six goals earned him the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot. In March 2023, a penalty against Italy took him past Wayne Rooney as England’s record men’s scorer. At the 2026 World Cup, he scored six times as England finished third, their highest placing at the men’s tournament since winning it in 1966.
Harry Kane currently plays for Bayern München as a striker. He has represented England internationally.
