Viking and Bayern München drew 3-3 at SR-Bank Arena in a UEFA Champions League league-stage matchday 2 fixture that produced six goals and a late twist. Viking led 2-0 at half-time, the visitors turned it around, and Herman Haugen levelled in the 90th minute to rescue a point for the hosts.
AI-assisted match report written from official match data.
Gianni Stensness gave Viking the lead in the 2nd minute, converting a Zlatko Tripić assist, and Peter Christiansen doubled it in the 38th minute from an Erik Botheim pass. Bayern came from two goals down to draw, and the manner of the recovery was emphatic once the break had passed.
Harry Kane pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 54th minute and levelled six minutes later, set up by Joshua Kimmich. Luis Díaz then put Bayern 3-2 ahead in the 71st minute, with Konrad Laimer providing the assist. Two minutes later Michael Olise was sent off, and Bayern did not score again after the dismissal.
Tripić supplied Haugen's equaliser in the 90th minute, completing a 3-3 draw. Oddsivio's pre-match forecast had given the draw a 13% chance. Viking next travel to Aston Villa in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday 21 October, while Bayern host RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Saturday 17 October.
Harry Kane scored twice, one from the penalty spot and one assisted by Kimmich, and earned the highest rating of any player on the pitch at 8.2. Christiansen, who scored Viking's second, followed on 8.08.
Bayern had 25 shots to Viking's 8, a gap that reflected how heavily the visitors pressed after the break.

Sirius · Why these numbers
Before kick-off Sirius gave Viking 10%, the draw 13%, Bayern München 77%. It finished Viking 3–3 Bayern München.
Bayern München's strength gap drives a one-sided forecast — We give Bayern München 77% mainly because our strength rating puts them 566 points higher, 2072 to 1506, a gap far bigger than the usual home advantage Viking start with. The draw sits at 13%, a little below the usual rate for a gap this size, as both teams' own recent games average 4.2 goals.
Why Bayern München at 77%?
Bayern München sit 566 points higher on our strength rating — 2072 to 1506. Sides with a more than 240-point rating edge on the road won 65.6% of 5,864 such games. The 300 most similar past games finished 8–12–80.
Why not higher?
No scored evidence points the other way. 77% is what this rating gap has been worth in games like these; the rest is the draw at 13% and Viking at 10%.
Why is the draw only 13%?
With a rating gap this size the draw starts at 13.9%. These teams' recent games average 4.2 goals — a high-scoring environment. Games in that environment drew 23.2% of 16,897. The goals environment takes 1.2 points off the draw.
What did we measure but not count?
Bayern München have averaged 25 percentage points more possession than Viking in recent games. That doesn’t change our forecast here. Viking have 14 fully-tracked matches with us — under our usual 25-game bar — but their strength rating is anchored to the long-run European club ratings list, which carries their wider competitive history into the number. Clubs from leagues we don't fully cover play too few tracked games for a record built from scratch, so their rating chain starts from published long-run club ratings instead of a blind first guess.
