Twente beat FC Thun 1-0 at De Grolsch Veste on the opening matchday of the UEFA Europa Conference League league stage. AI-assisted match report written from official match data.
The first half passed without a goal, with the sides level at 0-0 at the interval. The match turned at 60 minutes, when Patrik Kristal was sent off for FC Thun. Twente, already dominant, pressed home their numerical advantage and Ramiz Zerrouki finished from Daouda Weidmann's assist to make it 1-0 in the 65th minute.
From there Thun, who scored nothing and conceded once after the dismissal, were largely restricted to defending, and Twente saw the game out without alarm. The result left John van den Brom's side unbeaten in eight games. Twente's next game is at home to Utrecht in the Eredivisie on Sunday, while FC Thun host HNK Hajduk Split in the Europa Conference League on Thursday 22 October.

Sirius · Why these numbers
Before kick-off Sirius gave Twente 58%, the draw 23%, FC Thun 19%. It finished Twente 1–0 FC Thun.
Twente's stronger rating gives them a clear lead — We give Twente 58% mainly because they sit 128 points higher on our strength rating, 1658 to 1530, with the usual home advantage adding to that. The draw starts near 25%, the usual rate for a gap this size, but drops to 23% because both sides' own recent games average 3.8 goals.
